The first obligation of journalism is truth

Truth is the first principle. Truth can create a sense of security that grows from one's consciousness and it is this truth that becomes the essence of a story. For journalism, truth is translated into proclaiming

facts without straying and making them plausible. Journalistic truth is a process that begins by collecting and verifying facts. Journalists try to convey it in a fair and reliable report, and can be the subject for further research. Journalists should also be transparent in the use of resources and methods used, so that the audience can judge for themselves the information presented. (Ishwara, 2011: 21)
